In 2016, Netflix expanded its services to India. As a foreign entity, the brand implemented a strategy that focused on localizing its visual identity for social media to increase brand awareness among Indian millennials.
This included creating culturally relevant content that incorporated Netflix's values within the Indian context. As a result, by 2018, the brand's Instagram community in India had grown to one million followers, positioning Netflix as a popular and respected brand among Indian millennials.
